NewsAlert: Islanders fire head coach Capuano; assistant GM Weight takes over
BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Jack Capuano is out as head coach of the New York Islanders.
The team says assistant general manager Doug Weight will take over on an interim basis.
The 17-17-8 Islanders are last in the Eastern Conference standings with 42 points.
