Another mail theft in Kamloops; suspects caught

KAMLOOPS – There were several reports of community mailboxes being tampered with last week and now RCMP are investigating another one, this time in the Batchelor Heights area.

Const. Jason Epp with Kamloops RCMP says they were called to a report of people breaking into mailboxes at Batchelor Hills Drive and Grasslands Boulevard around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 18.

One witness was able to provide a license plate number, along with an "excellent description" of the suspects and vehicle, allowing police to locate and identify the suspects a short distance away.

A 28-year-old female and a 20-year-old male have been charged and will appear in court this morning, July 20, on charges of possession of stolen property, possession of break in instruments and theft of mail.

Last week reports came in of tampered mailboxes in Dallas and Brocklehurst
