Car stolen, crashed but no suspects

KAMLOOPS – Police are looking for someone with perhaps a few fresh wounds after they found a stolen car wrapped around a light standard near Peterson Creek Bridge late last night, July 20.

RCMP Sgt. Karen Delorey said in a release this morning police were called to the single vehicle collision on Highway 1 just east of the Peterson Creek Bridge. There, they found a dark-coloured Ford Focus that hit a light standard, knocking it down.

"It is believed that the driver may have sustained minor injuries; however, the driver of the vehicle departed on foot prior to police attendance," Delorey said.

Police tried to use a tracking dog but weren't successful. Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to call the Kamloops RCMP.
