UPDATE: Fugitive Ronald Teneycke believed to have car-jacked a new ride

PENTICTON – RCMP now believe prolific offender Ronald Teneycke has car-jacked another vehicle after assaulting the driver.

Teneycke was picked up hitchhiking on Baldy Mountain Forest Service Road by the driver of a 1999 3/4 ton GMC pickup truck with the words Okanagan Rustic Furniture across the back window. The license plate is 6721 GG, Cpl. Dave Tyreman, media relations for the RCMP, says in a press release.

Teneycke reportedly used an undisclosed weapon to assault the driver and steal the truck. Police are warning the public not to approach him as he may be armed and is considered dangerous.

Police are also asking the public to not disclose their whereabouts on social media during the manhunt. 

The recovery of a vehicle believed to be owned byTeneycke sparked the manhunt near Oliver this afternoon, July 22.

Oliver police discovered the pickup believed to have been driven by Teneycke, wanted for failing to appear for a conditional jail sentence two weeks ago, and suspected in an armed robbery in Oliver last week.

The pickup was discovered on Mount Baldy Road east of Oliver Wednesday morning. Because Teneycke is alleged to have recently committed an armed robbery, the RCMP emergency response team was called in to initiate a ground search.
