VERNON – The hardware was handed out at the national junior A championship awards banquet Friday night and a Vernon Viper scored twice.
Vernon native Colton Sparrow was named Top Forward and Top Scorer for his performance during the tournament’s preliminary round.
The other 2014 RBC Cup award winners are:
Most Valuable Player – Michael Stiliadis (Dauphin Kings)
Top Goaltender – Michael Stiliadis (Dauphin Kings)
Top Defenceman – Michael Prapavessis (Toronto Lakeshore Patriots)
Most Sportsmanlike Player – Brett D’Andrea (Carleton Place Canadians)
Carleton Place Canadians forward Andy Sturtz was named the Canadian Junior Hockey League Player of the Year award.
The league also awarded scholarships at the banquet held at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre.
Vernon Viper Josh Bryan received a cheque for $500.
