Cool, wet weekend in store for Okanagan

OKANAGAN – This weekend should offer a reprieve from the hot, dry weather that has led to a number of wildfires burning around the region.

Today, July 24, highs will range from 25 Celsius to 28 C, according to Environment Canada. Skies will be a mix of sun and cloud and there is a 30 per cent chance of showers today.

Saturday and Sunday will brings highs in the low 20s, several degrees below seasonal normals of 27 C. Along with a 40 to 60 per cent chance of showers both days there is a risk of thunderstorms on Saturday.

By Monday temperatures will be back up to seasonal normals and the skies will clear.

There is still a smoky skies advisory in place for the Okanagan because the wildfires burning in the area. The air quality health index is at a low rating this morning but is expected to go up to a moderate rating of four later today.
