Westjet adds extra non-stop flight between Kelowna and Edmonton

THOMPSON-OKANAGAN – People in the Southern Interior will soon have another option when it comes to choosing a flight to Edmonton.

Calling it a vote of confidence in the Edmonton metro region, Westjet has announced increased non-stop service to the Prairie city from B.C. and Saskatchewan.

Starting Dec. 15 Kelowna will see one extra flight to Edmonton added to the current schedule. WestJet currently has three non-stop daily flights from Kelowna to Edmonton as well as flights to Calgary, Vancouver, Victoria, Fort McMurray and Toronto.

In February Westjet introduced non-stop daily service between Edmonton and Kamloops.

In a press release Westjet vice-president Chris Avery said Edmonton is one of the fastest-growing cities in Canada and the flight additions support that growth. Flights are also being added between Edmonton and Nanaimo, Grande Prairie, Saskatoon and Regina.
