Vehicle incident closes Yellowhead Highway south of McLure

KAMLOOPS – Emergency crews are responding to a two vehicle collision between McLure and Vinsulla, about 27 kilometres south of Barriere, this afternoon.

As of 3:32 p.m. July 28, Drive B.C. confirmed the crash has closed the Yellowhead Highway in both directions. An assessment of the incident is currently taking place while police are on scene and an update is expected later this afternoon.

The B.C. Ambulance Service dispatched four ambulances shortly after 3 p.m. and transported one patient in critical condition to Royal Inland Hospital. Paramedics are still attending to others involved in the crash.

Intial reports have suggested the collision is fatal with passengers trapped, but B.C. Ambulance Service was not able to confirm if there was a fatality.
