Elvis sightings off the scale in Penticton

PENTICTON – Rhinstones glittered, the smell of Brylcreem wafted through the air and the mumble of "Thank you. Thank you very much," could be heard as Elvis tribute artists performed at the 13 annual Penticton Pacific Northwest Elvis Festival this weekend.

The three day event wrapped up Sunday with an Elvis gospel show at Okanagan Lake Park and finals at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre.

One of the highlights of this year’s festival was Bill Cherry’s concert Saturday night at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

Cherry is on Time magazine’s list of the top 10 Elvis tribute artists.
