Three more federal infrastructure grants for the North Thompson area
NORTH THOMPSON – This week the federal government continued to roll out funding for projects around the region. Among the announcements was funding for Blue River, Clearwater and Sun Peaks.
In total more than $300,000 in funding was doled out to the three communities as part of the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program.
In Sun Peaks $95,000 will help renovate and upgrade the outdoor arena while $146,300 will help enhance Weyerhaeuser Pioneer Park in Clearwater. The Thompson-Nicola Regional District also received $62,500 to upgrade Eleanor Lake Playground at the Blue River Community Park.
“Clearwater is a community that is known for its lifestyle options including our recreation opportunities,” Clearwater Mayor John Harwood said at the announcement earlier this week. “This announcement is very exciting, the splash park will be a great addition to our community and will go a long way in keeping and attracting young families."

I wonder just where all this money is coming from. And how many government departments didn’t spend the yearly allotment. It is good for the community’s but it make you think who is going without???
