Kettle Valley Railway trail to be expanded
PENTICTON – The Okanagan Similkameen Regional District is building connections on key sections of the Kettle Valley Railway Trail between Oliver and Osoyoos.
Regional district spokesperson Debbie Clarke says the plan is to connect Electoral Areas “A” and “C” through the trail, with much of the work to be centred on a section alongside recently installed passing lanes just north of Osoyoos Lake.
Clarke says tenders for the work will be issued this fall, with construction beginning in 2016 and finishing in the spring of 2017.
The total cost of the project is $249,200.
The regional district is paying for half, with the federal government covering the rest.
