
Omicron remains the most common COVID-19 variant among B.C. residents
VICTORIA – British Columbia recorded another 23 deaths linked to COVID-19 in the week ending April 9.
New cases reported for the same period were 1,770.
In its weekly reporting of pandemic statistics, the BC Centre for Disease Control figures show 364 people were in hospital and 36 of those were in critical care as of Thursday.
The centre’s statistics say 91 per cent of those 18 years and older have received two doses of a vaccine.
Those in the five-to-11 age category who have had two shots of vaccine is now 40 per cent.
Omicron remains the most common variant infection among B.C. residents.
