Kelowna RCMP want to talk to the driver of a car that struck a cyclist yesterday afternoon at the corner of Bertram Street and Harvey Avenue.
The hit and run happened at about 2:45 p.m. when an 86-year-old Kelowna man was riding his bike on the sidewalk and maneuvered onto the crosswalk without stopping. The car that hit him was blue, possibly a hatchback. It struck the front tire of the bicycle, knocking the elderly man to the ground, police say.
The cyclist was take to hospital by ambulance with undetermined, non life-threatening injuries.
Mounties say the driver of the car may not be aware he struck the cyclist and are simply wanting to speak with this person at this time.
