Downtown stabbing sends one to hospital in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS – A 23-year-old is being treated for serious injuries at Royal Inland Hospital after he was stabbed in a downtown parking lot Thursday evening.

Around 7:20 p.m., Aug. 13, RCMP were called to the 7-Eleven on Seymour Street for reports of a stabbing. They found a 23-year-old male with serious, but non-life threatening injuries and are now looking for two male suspects in connection with the stabbing.

The suspects arrived and departed on foot and it is believed the victim and suspects knew each other, Sgt. Bob Fogarty says in a media release.

No further details are being released, but Fogarty does note the stabbing is not connected to the business or employees.

Serious crime and general duty units continue to investigate and any witnesses are asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
