Canada Day road closures planned for downtown

KELOWNA – With hundreds of pedestrians expected downtown for Canada Day, several roads and parking lots will be closed to vehicles.

Vehicle traffic on Water St. from Cawston Ave. to Sunset Dr. will be restricted from 6:00 am to 11:00 p.m.  Access to the Delta hotel and Prospera parking lots will however, be permitted.

The Knox Mountain roadway will be closed to vehicle traffic at 8:00 p.m. and parking will be prohibited from noon on June 30 to noon on July 2.

Parking for The Dolphins will be closed from noon on June 30 to noon on July 2 and Mill Street lot (Kerry Park) will also be closed July 1 from 6:00 a.m. until after fireworks dispersal.

All stalls on west side of Water Street from the boat launch to Stuart Park will be restricted to aid in pedestrian flow and unmanned barricades will be in place all day July 1 to separate vehicles from pedestrians.

Parking meters will be bagged on Water Street between Cawston Ave. and Sunset from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 1.

All stalls in front of Kerry Park will be closed to public parking for RCMP vehicles and crowd dispersal after fireworks.
