Cougar sightings have been reported in the Oyama area according to a statement by the District of Lake Country.
The reports came from the Middlebench area and another area close to where Oyama Road meets Lodge Road.
The district says although a cougar attack is unlikely, it pays to be prepared. They linked their online warning to an article published by the B.C. government Environmental Stewardship Division that offers safety tips.
