
Solid final day at Apple Triathlon despite smokey air
KELOWNA – Smokey skies did not deter more than 650 athletes running in day two of the 33rd Annual Pushor Mitchell Kelowna Apple Triathlon.
In total 1200 athletes from across Canada and the United states took part in 3 days worth of events in Kelowna’s downtown core.
Sunday’s races included the Sprint distance for age groups as well as the Olympic distance.
This race represents the BC Provincial Championships for Standard (Olympic) distance and will also award one spot per age group for the 2016 ITU World Triathlon Championships in Mexico.
In addition the Olympic distance is an official qualifying race for competitors who wish to apply to be part of Team Canada at the 2016 ITU World Championships.
