Government of B.C. asks for public input on 2016 budget

THOMPSON-OKANAGAN – The province wants your say on the 2016 B.C. budget.

Public hearings have been scheduled across the province, including Kelowna and Kamloops.

Residents can attend the consultation or register starting September 1 to make a brief presentation. A conference call option will also be available for those unable to attend in person.

Kelowna’s consultation is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 16 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Cedar Room of the Ramada Hotel and Conference Centre.

Kamloops' consultation is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It will be held in the Sun Dial Room on 1175 Rogers Way at the Four Points Sheraton.

The province’s Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services conducts consultations with the public every year. The committee will prepare a report by late fall of their recommendations.

The fall sitting of the Legislative Assembly begins on Monday, Sept. 28.
