Two teens, ages 14 and 18, arrested for murder in Vernon death
VERNON – Police have arrested two teenagers for second degree murder in the death of Jason Hardy, whose body was found in Polson Park last week.
One of the teens is a 14 year old male. He and 18-year-old Brandon Wellington were arrested Aug. 31. Both are residents of the Greater Vernon area, RCMP Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy said in a media release today, Sept. 2.
Charges of second degree murder have been approved against both, and they are scheduled to appear in Vernon court Wednesday, Sept. 2.
“The investigation leads RCMP to believe this was a targeted offence, and police do not believe there is a risk to the public,” Noseworthy said.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with unreported information regarding Hardy’s death is asked to contact the Vernon RCMP Detachment.
Hardy's body was found Aug. 26 in Vernon's Polson Park.
