PENTICTON – A man wanted on a province-wide warrant out of Abbotsford was tracked down and arrested in Penticton June 26.
It was like a scene out of a television cop show, with the 25-year-old Cultus Lake man deciding to run into a nearby townhouse after seeing police. He was pursued and found hiding inside the townhouse located on Baskin Street.
The man was arrested. Subsequently, Mounties found a replica handgun, extendable baton and break in tools in the man's possession.
Police identified the man as David Urquhart. He's facing charges including break and enter, possession of a prohibited weapon without licence, possession of a prohibited weapon and of a firearm while prohibited.
The man remains in custody pending his next appearance.
