Hilarious, full contact soccer to hit Kamloops
KAMLOOPS – A brand new, full-contact sport has arrived in the Tournament Capital.
B.C. Bubble Soccer is bringing what are essentially human bubblewraps to Kamloops to add more contact to the traditional game of soccer, but also to changeup schoolyard games from red rover and gauntlet, to prison break and more.
"It's a very intense, fun workout where you wear a large bubble around your body. You’re strapped on the inside and play a variety of games with full contact. You’re getting smashed around but you’re very well protected,” business owner Tony Lavin says.
And it's hilarious.
“I laugh my head off every time I watch it,” he says.
Lavin says he started the business in the Lower Mainland but saw the market for it in the province’s Interior.
“There’s a significant gap in the market. It’s the Tournament Capital — I thought this could tie in well,” he says.
Currently the business is partnering up with a local space in Kamloops, but Lavin wouldn’t say which place as he’s awaiting a formal agreement.
Lavin has started advertising the business in the interim for private bookings.
