Gunshots ring out in Kelowna; two men wounded

KELOWNA – Two men are in serious condition in hospital after a shooting in Kelowna Sunday night.

RCMP responded to a call about shots fired around 10:50 p.m., Sept. 6, at a home in the 1400-block of Terai Road in Rutland.

“A male was heard yelling followed by a number of gun shots and then silence,” Corp. Joe Duncan says in a media release.

Numerous RCMP officers and a police dog conducted a search of the area but no suspects were found, he says.

A 27-year-old Kelowna man with a gunshot wound was taken to hospital by ambulance from a home in Rutland, while a 33-year-old Kelowna man, who had also been shot, was transported from a different residence.

“Both men are not forthcoming with details,” Duncan says.
