Alleged attempted abduction not random: RCMP

OLIVER – Four Oliver men are facing charges following an alleged attempted abduction from the South Okanagan General Hospital, Wednesday.

RCMP say a 31-year-old man from Oliver was the target of the reported attempted abduction and assault with a weapon, but it wasn't a random act. They say public safety is not at risk.

All four men have been released though on significantly restrictive conditions.

They are to appear in court again July 30 to answer to charges of kidnapping, assault with a weapon and mischief under $5,000.
