Coroner releases identity of man killed in highway crash

SPALLUMCHEEN – The B.C. Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died in a motor vehicle incident in Spallumcheen, near Armstrong on May 30, 2013 when, for reasons unknown, his vehicle tumbled off a 30 foot embankment.

The man is David Victor Genschorek, 59, from Armstrong. Genschorek was discovered deceased on the morning of May 30 by highway construction workers arriving on the job at 6:30 a.m. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate the accident, which occurred on Highway 97A just south of Eagle Rock Road.

Genschorek’s family has been notified of his death.
