CALGARY – Dominique Malonga scored twice to lead Cavalry FC past HFX Wanderers 2-0 on Saturday in Canadian Premier League action.
Marco Carducci made three saves for as Cavalry FC, based in Calgary, started the CPL’s inaugural season with five straight wins.
Christian Oxner stopped 1-of-3 shots in net for Halifax (1-3-0).
Earlier, Christopher Nanco and Tristan Borges both scored in the second half to lift Forge FC over York9 FC 2-0.
The Hamilton-based Forge improved to 3-2-1 and York9 FC remained winless in league play with two losses and two draws.
