LONDON – In a story first published Oct. 18, 2020, about allegations against the tolerance minister of the United Arab Emirates, The Associated Press reported on a statement by Britain’s Metropolitan Police that an allegation of rape was made against the minister. British police has since revised its statement on the matter, saying instead in an email Wednesday that a woman contacted police on July 3 to “report an allegation of attempted rape, digital penetration and false imprisonment.” The story has been updated to address this change and to include the full statement from the minister’s lawyers.
