OKANAGAN – If you were hoping for one last good hurrah before the end of summer, you may have waited too long — the final weekend of summer is set to be filled with rain.
Environment Canada is calling for temperatures to be near seasonal normals of 19 Celsius today, Sept. 18, and Saturday before temperatures warm up to 22 C throughout the region Sunday.
Overnight lows will stay above seasonal normals of 8 C all weekend, with temperatures expected to dip as low as 11 C Friday and Saturday night and then 9 C on Sunday night.
The weather office is also calling for rain to begin tonight in the North Okanagan and for showers throughout the Okanagan Saturday, with up to 15 millimetres of rain expected in the Vernon area. Sunday the clouds are expected to remain with a 60 per cent chance of showers throughout the Okanagan.
