$12,000 worth of tire chains stolen from Vernon storage yard

VERNON – RCMP are asking for the public’s help to find the thieves who stole thousands of dollars worth of tire chains from a storage yard on the weekend.

Police say someone broke into the Western Equipment storage yard at 1046 Middleton Way sometime overnight on Friday, Sept. 18.

Thieves made off with 60 sets of Trygg tire chains, worth about $12,000, stored outside in the locked, fenced compound.

Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy doesn’t know if there was any damage to the fence or any forcible entry into the compound.

The chains were in white and blue, or black bags. They are in two sizes: 11R x 24.5 7mm/8mm and 12.00R x 24 7mm.

Noseworthy says investigators are reviewing video footage taken by security cameras in the area for any possible leads.

Anyone with information regarding the break and enter or have seen the stolen tire chains are asked to call the Vernon RCMP detachment at 250-545-7171.
