Naramata Bench winery raises money for local SPCA
PENTICTON – The Penticton SPCA got some financial help last week courtesy of a Naramata Bench winery.
The SPCA of the South Okanagan received a donation of nearly $6,000 on Sept. 16 from Hillside Winery and Bistro, on behalf of the winery’s tasting room team, sales and marketing representative Mark Burgess says.
The funds were collected through tasting fee donations made voluntarily by patrons of the winery, and sometimes with some prompting of the tasting room staff.
“We are very pleased to be a part of the continuing success story of the local SPCA branch which has a big job to do. It covers the biggest geographical area of any B.C. SPCA branch, and hopefully our donation makes a difference for it. We appreciate and respect their work,” Hillside Winery President Duncan McCowan says.
