Trail bypass around Trestle 3 expected July
With summer just around the corner Myra Canyon Provincial Park will be getting more visitors. But those hoping to walk or cycle the complete circuit of trestles will have to wait.
Repairs are now underway on the trail's third trestle, damaged by a rockslide in April. But they won't be completed until late September, says the B.C. Ministry of Environment. Once the trestle is taken apart repair crews will begin their scaling activities. During the repairs the trail will be closed to the public from the second to fourth trestles, but visitors will still be able to enjoy the scenic canyon views from trestles four through 18.
Once the scaling work is finished in mid-July a bypass trail around trestle three will allow people to make the full loop from the Myra Station parking area to the Ruth Station lot.
