KAMLOOPS – Police are investigating a copper wire theft last night at a plumbing and heating business in Sahali.
Const. Jason Epp says a lone male broke into the compound of Interior Plumbing and Heating between 11 p.m. and midnight, Sept. 24, and stole spools of welding cable.
Owners at the business located at 782 Laval Crescent filed a police report and officers are now investigating, Epp says.
Unfortunately, Epp adds, metal thefts are frequent in the city.
“It’s typically the copper cable because they can sell the metal at going rate. If it’s the cables they’ll typically strip it and get money per pound,” he says. “It’s very common in any of the bigger city centres."
Management from the company declined comment.
