Sunny and warm end to September in the Okanagan

OKANAGAN – The weekend was filled with typical autumn weather, and a few cooler nights, but we can expect it to warm up a bit during the week as September comes to a close.

Environment Canada is calling for temperatures to reach as high as 22 C this week. The mercury is expected to reach between 20 C and 22 C today, Sept. 28, through Friday, at least a few degrees above the seasonal normal highs of 17 C.

Overnight lows are expected to be near seasonal normal lows of 6 C all week, except in Kelowna where a low of 2 C and a risk of frost is expected is expected tonight. While Vernon and Penticton dipped to lows of 2.2 C and 1.7 C Sunday, the weather station in Kelowna recorded a chilly -1.3 C.

The sky should be sunny through the end of the month and then some cloud will slip in to start October. A chance of rain is expected along with cloudy skies Friday.
