Death toll from Tel Aviv construction collapse rises to 4

JERUSALEM – The Israeli military says the death toll from a construction site collapse in Tel Aviv has risen to four.

Rescue teams led by the military’s Home Front Command have been searching for two days for survivors inside the wreckage of the multilevel parking garage under construction that collapsed.

The military confirmed Wednesday that two additional bodies were found and three people were still missing.

The collapse sent a large plume of dust floating over the area and left a crater in the ground. More than 20 people were wounded in the accident, which is under investigation.

The Home Front Command is often sent around the world to help locate victims from earthquakes, tsunamis and other natural disasters.

The garage collapsed in an upscale commercial district of northern Tel Aviv.
