KAMLOOPS – Two people accused of stealing a Kamloops pizza delivery driver’s car earlier this month were arrested after allegedly stealing a second pizza delivery driver’s vehicle in Grand Forks, B.C.
Sgt. Darren Oelke with the Trail RCMP says in a media release two suspects approached the driver and robbed them of their cash and vehicle on Sept. 6.
But after the vehicle was stolen, police engaged the suspects in a chase.
The car struck a rock wall after speeding around a corner on Highway 3B heading toward Rossland and it was totalled, Oelke says. The two suspects were taken into custody and officers found a loaded gun in the car.
After the two men were arrested, police linked them to other files including a similar robbery in Kamloops.
Oelke says the suspects robbed a Papa John’s pizza driver of his vehicle and cash on Sept. 3 before travelling to Chilliwack. In the Lower Mainland, Oelke says the men robbed a convenience store before arriving in Grand Forks.
Andrew Shipley, 18, from Nova Scotia and Colton Emery Knowles, 19, from Alberta are both facing multiple charges including robbery, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, and wearing a disguise in the commission of an offence.
The pair have pending court dates at the Rossland courthouse.
