Iconic Penticton sign vandalized
PENTICTON – The city’s famous Penticton sign on Munson Mountain was vandalized recently.
City of Penticton communications manager Simone Blais says city crews noticed the defacement a few weeks ago. Someone had spray painted a large band across the lower section of the “i” in Penticton, turning it into an exclamation point.
City crews will clean it up next week.
Blais reminds residents even though this is a small cleanup, vandalism such as this is an example of city resources being used for cleanup and repair rather than being spent on things that move the community forward and provide benefit to all.
The city encourages residents to report vandalism in progress asking anyone has any information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Gotta say I thought it was innovative and imaginative – maybe permanently changing it to that would send a positive message to all of us who live here and all those who are thinking about it!
