There’s still time for north Westside Road residents to reserve a seat for the free, ‘Wood Heating Workshop’.
It’s being held on Thursday, October 15th starting at 6:00 pm in the Killiney Beach Community Hall, 514 Udell Road.
The first 20 people to pre-register by October 13th will receive a free wood moisture meter.
The session is perfect for anyone who uses a wood stove or fireplace.
Participants will learn about proper wood heating and burning techniques, purchasing and preparing your wood, tips on loading the firebox and chimney care, what EPA and Emission ratings mean and how to plan an effective wood heating system. We’ll also have information available about how residents can save money and utilize rebates by updating their wood burning appliance through the Wood Stove Exchange program.
For more information about this event and to reserve your free space and gift, email airquality@kelowna.ca or contact the Regional Air Quality Program Coordinator at 250-469-8408.
This free event is part of the ‘Wood Stove Exchange’ program through a grant from the Province of BC and BC Lung Association.
