Vandals torch cars, damage others in Glenmore

KELOWNA – Two vehicles on Yates Road in Glenmore were lit on fire by vandals early this morning and others were damaged, according to Kelowna Fire Department.

Platoon Captain Scott Cronquist confirmed this morning, Oct. 15, the fires were deliberately set around 2:30 a.m. 

"They are suspicious at this time," he says.

When fire crews arrived in the 500 block of Yates Road, they found one car up in flames. Another vehicle was also lit on fire but only partially involved, with damage to front and rear of the vehicle.

Cpl. Joe Duncan of Kelowna RCMP says four other vehicles were found with the front passenger windows smashed out. 

Police arson and forensic specialists are investigating.
