A man believed to have connections with the Hells Angels was in Lumby over the weekend selling t-shirts without a vendor's license.
RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk says Lumby officers stopped to investigate a man and a woman tending a Hells Angels Motorcycle Club merchandise booth Saturday around 2 p.m.
The couple was working out of a trailer set up at Glencaird Street and Norrise Avenue.
"The vender and his co-worker, a female, were advised to pack up and move on as they had been declined a vendor application by the village of Lumby for the weekend," Molendyk says. "The male made a point to cause a scene and argue with our officers."
The 43-year-old Coquitlam man would not identify himself and resisted arrest. He was arrested for obstruction of justice, taken into custody and transported to Vernon RCMP cells. He has since been released on a promise to appear in court. Molendyk says there are indications the man is associated with the Hells Angels because of what he was wearing.
The woman co-worker did not identify herself but dismantled the sales tent and left the area.
