Teen rolls pickup into Skaha Lake

PENTICTON – A Penticton teenager rolled his dad’s pick-up and ended up in Skaha Lake last night.

RCMP were called to the crash at about 11:30 p.m., Oct. 16, on Eastside Road between Penticton and Okanagan Falls.

Police say the 17-year-old rolled his father’s GMC Sierra multiple times. He received a large gash above his left eye.

“The driver initially stated his brother was also in the truck,” Staff Sgt. Kurt Lozinski says, but after a search by firefighters from Okanagan Falls and Penticton, which included the use of a thermal imaging device, no one was found.

Lozinski says the brother was later located and wasn’t involved in the crash.

Police are dealing with this matter as an impaired investigation, he says.
