School board meeting to go hot, then cold, then hot again

PENTICTON — Students and teachers will be hot and cold topics at the School District 67 public board meeting tonight.

A group of students went on a Tanzania trip, a few more will go to the Arctic Circle and trustees will consider raising their pay to keep up with inflation rates.

Vice-principal Sandra Richardson and a few students will share their spring break Tanzania experiences. Students and staff will also get a shot at going to the Arctic on board the CCGS Amundsen as it travels through the Northwest Passage. Vice-principal Jennifer Wingham will go into more detail tonight.

And school board trustees will consider if their pay will go up as inflation rates go up. The board might change their policy to raise trustee indemnities each September by the Consumer Price Index of British Columbia for the previous 12-month period.
