Action packed afternoon on Sunday at Penticton Speedway
PENTICTON – It’s the final weekend for racing events at Penticton Speedway and the track is going out with a bang — literally.
Penticton Speedway owner John Aantjes says the Halloween Destruction stock car races on Sunday will include a hit-to-pass event involving race cars towing boats and travel trailers.
“It’s great family entertainment, I think it’s going to be a big event,” Aantjes says, adding some of the proceeds of Sunday’s race will go to the Penticton Breakfast Program as well as the Canadian Tire Jump Start program.
“It’s going to be a beautiful day of racing. The hit-to-pass event is a real good draw for us, even among those who don’t watch racing," Aantjes says. "There’s lots of action and adrenaline… it’s been a real crowd pleaser.”
The Halloween themed event includes a best costume contest for those attending, with prizes for best driver, best fan and best car.
Action gets underway at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 25, at Penticton Speedway located at 2070 Carmi Avenue.
