The Kamloops commute this coming week

KAMLOOPS – In only one week’s time, Kamloops residents will get their bridge back. The Overlanders Bridge project is on schedule and predicted to conclude by the end of this month. Remaining city road construction will be complete during the first weeks of November.

Overlanders Bridge

Paving of the south end approach roads is scheduled to take place, Saturday, Oct. 24 starting at 9 p.m. North Shore bound traffic coming from Summit Drive and Mission Flats Road will re-route via downtown.

The Fortune Drive overpass is scheduled to be temporarily closed Monday, Oct. 26 starting at 9 a.m. to allow for paving of the approach roads and ramps.
 
All southbound passenger vehicles traveling downtown continue to detour through the temporary bypass off the south west ramp.

Crews will continue removing west side scaffolding at night.

The webcam at the south end of the bridge will be back in operation by midweek.

Twelfth Street Reconstruction

All lanes are now open but motorists can expect some single lane alternating traffic conditions when work is being completed.

Aberdeen Drive

Road work on the left turn bay at the intersection of Aberdeen and Van Horne Drives is scheduled to start Monday, Oct. 26.

While directional and alternating traffic will be maintained, motorists are advised to expect delays.

Dallas Drive

Early next week, crews will pour the concrete curb and later in the week, paving is scheduled but weather dependent.

Motorists can expect single lane, alternating traffic between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
