KELOWNA – The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Prince George Cougars 5-2 on Friday night, Oct. 23, at Prospera Place, kicking off a four game homestand on a winning note.
Dillon Dube had two goals and an assist to lead the Rockets to the win in the third straight game between the two teams.
Nick Merkley added a goal and an assist in the win while Calvin Thurkauf and Justin Kirkland also scored for the Rockets, who improved to 8-4-0-0 on the season with the win.
Tyson Baillie had a pair of helpers while Michael Herringer earned the win in net, stopping 29 of 31 shots as Prince George outshot Kelowna 31-30 in the game and 12-7 in the third.
The Rockets are back in action tonight when they play host to the Calgary Hitmen at Prospera Place.
