Police arrest prolific offender, seize items from home invasion

KAMLOOPS – A call to break up an argument became a foot chase leading to a prolific offender’s arrest on Thursday afternoon.

On Thursday around noon, the detachment received a report of the pair arguing at the Acadian Inn on Columbia Street. Officers attended the scene and noticed a truck which had been reported stolen earlier in the day parked outside.

A similar Ford F350 was reported after a home invasion around 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

The female suspect was arrested at the hotel while the prolific offender took off on foot. While the man fled, he damaged two vehicles by jumping on them. He was later arrested.

After executing a search warrant for the duo’s hotel room, officers found items believed to be from the break and enter. Police found jewellery, identification, cell phones, electronics and a .22 calibre rifle.

Several charges have been recommended against the pair. Both are due in court today.
