Fugitive kidnapper recaptured in Mexico City

MEXICO CITY – Authorities in Mexico City have recaptured one of two kidnappers who escaped from a city prison during a bathroom break.

The city prosecutor’s office said Monday on its official Twitter account that Agustin Miranda Orozco was recaptured after escaping May 30.

The two prisoners had been in a holding area awaiting a court appearance when they asked to use the bathroom. Their handcuffs were removed and they were left alone for 15 minutes.

Prosecutors sent a photo through Twitter showing Miranda handcuffed and dressed in a grey track suit. The search continued for the other fugitive.
