UPDATE: Man dead after leap from moving vehicle

KELOWNA – There are more questions than answers following the death of a Kelowna man who jumped from a moving car on Saturday morning.

Victor John Doyle, 23, of Kelowna was riding in the passenger side when, according to the RCMP, he “unexpectedly” leapt from the vehicle on Glenmore Road near Union Road.

Doyle was rushed to Kelowna General in critical condition and died later that day from his injuries.

RCMP say the 33-year-old driver remained at the scene and  cooperated with the police investigation even though he didn't have a driver’s licence. He was issued a ticket for driving without one.

The RCMP Traffic Services are assisting the B.C. Coroners Service with the investigation into the Doyle’s death.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call the Kelowna detachment at 250-828-3000.
