LIONS BAY, B.C. – Two hikers who went out for what was supposed to be a day hike on Tuesday are safe after they walked out of the woods on their own.
Martin Colwell, manager of Lions Bay Search and Rescue, says the women walked into the organization’s operations base on Wednesday.
Colwell says it appears the women, both 19, were picked up on a highway and dropped off.
The women had parked their vehicle in a lot that is used as the starting point for hikes to West Lion Peak and other popular routes overlooking Howe Sound.
Colwell says the women appeared to be uninjured. (News1130)
