UPDATE: FALSE: All clear in report of possible Kelowna child abduction

KELOWNA – Kelowna RCMP say everyone is accounted and a report of a child abduction earlier today was proven false.

A release sent this evening says police have found both people concerned. It was all a misunderstanding, everyone is just fine and police say the boy who reported it did the right thing.

"The Kelowna RCMP would like to commend the actions of the vigilant young complainant who did the right thing by reporting the suspicious incident to her parents and in turn the police," said spokesperson, Const. Jesse O'Donaghey.

Parents of Dorothea Walker Elementary School students were sent an email today warning of a possible attempted child abduction near their school at 2:30 p.m. today, Nov. 9 in the area of Gordon Drive and Old Meadows Road in the Mission.
