West Kelowna Warriors downed by visiting Vees

WEST KELOWNA – The West Kelowna Warriors fired 46 shots on Anthony Brodeur, but could only score once in a 3-1 loss to the Penticton Vees on Friday, Nov. 13, at Royal Lepage Place.

Owen SIllinger got the Vees on the board in the first when Ben Brar's shot went off the pad of Keelan Williams and right to Sillinger. He made no mistake burying his 7th goal.

The Warriors would tie the game up minutes after Williams made a huge save on a Chris Gerrie breakaway, as Tanner Campbell lifted an aerial pass to Jonathan Desbiens. With a quick shot from the right circle, Desbiens went upstairs on Brodeur to tie the game.

Just 1:34 after, Tyson Jost deflected a centering pass past Williams to restore the Vees lead, as the Warriors out-shot Penticton 16 in the first.

Only one goal would be scored in the second period, as Easton Brodzinski solved Williams in tight on the power play to open up a two goal lead.

In the final frame, Brodeur stopped all 18 shots the Warriors threw at him, sealing the 21st straight win for the Vees this season. West Kelowna outshot Penticton 46-22 overall.

The Warriors will head off to Salmon Arm on Saturday to take on the Silverbacks, who scored 4 times in the 3rd period to beat the Merritt Centennials Friday. Puck drop is at 7 pm.
