Kelowna Rockets edged in Spokane

SPOKANE – The Spokane Chiefs defeated the Kelowna Rockets 4-3 in overtime on Saturday night, Nov. 15, in Spokane, scoring three straight third period goals to earn the win.

The Rockets led 3-1 early in the third period before Spokane scored two straight to force overtime and then won it 2:15 into the extra period.

The loss snaps the Rockets five game winning streak and drops their record to 14-5-1-0 on the season.

Gordie Ballhorn had a goal and two assists for Kelowna while Justin Kirkland and Calvin Thurkauf also scored.

Jackson Whistle suffered the loss in net with the Chiefs outshooting Kelowna 34-21.

The Rockets play in Kamloops on Wednesday before returning to Prospera Place this coming weekend, hosting Edmonton on Friday and and Vancouver on Saturday.
